For example, if you face a Man-of-War - the powerful British warship - you can start preparing for death. But if you upgrade the armor, cannons and other ship's stuff, you will be able to fight against any enemy.
"Having the Jackdaw allows us to have a really deep progression system," - says Ashraf Ismail, the game director of Assassin's Creed 4. "We have a lot of different weapons with a lot of upgrades. This really ties everything together. It gives a reason to travel the world. It gives us a reason to find collectibles."
And really, to upgrade your ship, you will have to sail the seas, moor and spend a lot of time on the various islands and in the different cities, dive deep into the ocean trying to find the collectibles, follow the treasure maps and seek for new and new resources. While trying to make your ship better, you will be able to explore the huge open-world of Assassin's Creed 4 game, reveal its secrets and spend fantastic in-game hours.
"At some point you’ll look back and realize you just spent the last two hours going to this place and that place and killing this guy and attacking this ship," Ismail explains. "It’s so natural. I think that’s one of the coolest things we have in the game."
But of course, not only the ship will have the upgrade options. Also you will be able to expand the features of Edward. As a pirate, he will be able to carry many different guns and other weapons, and you can improve them and increase their quantity. Moreover, you will be able to upgrade the health of the game's protagonist.
