Recently some interesting information about the Halo project has appeared online. According to it, Neill Blomkamp, known for his work on such projects as District 9 and Elysium, is going to direct the Halo TV series, the creation of which was announced in spring 2013. However currently there’s no official confirmation of this news from Microsoft company. It is also still unknown if Blomkamp will be responsible for the shooting of the whole Halo TV series or just of the pilot episode.
Let us remind you that Neill Blomkamp already has some practice in working with the Halo series. He has filmed several trailers, dedicated to the Halo 3 release. Besides, in 2007 Blomkamp was supposed to control the shooting of the full-length Halo movie. But the project had to be closed up because of the emerged problems. However the director stated from time to time that he would like to continue working with the Halo universe, because it seems very interesting and inspiring.
The Halo TV series is planned for release in the second quarter of 2014. It’s already confirmed that Steven Spielberg is appointed as a producer of the show, while the information about the episodes list, cast, budget and plans for distribution is being kept in a secret.
