In July 2014, its developer - Naughty Dog studio - stated that the game’s creators had started considering the ideas about the future sequel of the popular survival horror.
However, recently, a rumor that the Last of Us 2 game is currently being developed has appeared online. The update of the Naughty Dog’s former employee's LinkedIn profile has become the reason of it. Since October 2011, Michael Knowland has been the lead character artist of the first part in the franchise as well as of the Uncharted 4 project. Thus, there’s information on his page that during one unspecified month he was prototyping the head sculpts of the heroes for The Last of Us sequel.
As some users have noted, earlier The Last of Us 2 game was indicated as an “Unannounced AAA Game”.
Let us remind you that this August Knowland quit the studio. Which has become the reason of such a decision is still being kept in a secret.
