Hi there, folks! We’d like to proclaim the latest news about The Division for you. The game came out on the 8th March this year, and it was a total WOW among the gamers, and a LOL among the haters (there were a lot of bugs at the beginning, but now Ubisoft has fixed almost all of them).
In first 24 hours after the game was released it was sold through more copies than any of the other popular Ubisoft games. It made $330 million after its first five days, according to Ubisoft. In a press release that was on the 9th March the company announced that the multiplayer shooter also set Ubisoft digital sales records across its available platforms. However, Ubisoft didn’t provide any of the exact numbers, but we still hope that a breakthrough like The Division is the REAL one.
Ubisoft Massive managing director David Polfeldt said that the studio is extremely happy with The Division launch and the sales.
Ubisoft notes that according to NPD numbers and GFK Chart Track it has produced three of the top four most successful new game launches in history (The Division, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed stand alongside Destiny for that honor).
Updates comin’ up!
The company announced that they let the updates out for The Division next week. Developers didn’t reveal the exact list of updates, but prevoiusly they were talking about fixing the elements of Dark Zone, among other stuff. Also, we know that there will be free updates in April and May, and the paid DLC will be waiting for your purchase in summer.
"The game may have just released but we already have a new update for you to dive into!"
"This will be in your hands next week and fear not, more information about it will be revealed very soon so keep your eyes peeled."
"The roadmap ahead is super exciting and this is only the beginning," Ubisoft said in its latest State of the Game blog post.
As a little bonus we suggest you to watch the six-and-a-half-hour gameplay. Enjoy!
