The first rumours about making a screen version of the Batman: Arkham Asylum game appeared in July 2013, but since then there hasn’t been any more information concerning this fact. And recently the creation of a full-length animated movie has been officially confirmed.

According to James Tucker - the producer of the Justice League: War TV series, - the animated version of the Batman’s adventures will hit the screens this year. While the project is being under development, it has a working title of Batman: Arkham Assault. The plot will be based mostly on the events from the Batman: Arkham Asylum game, and not the original comic story. The more exact details about the content of the project are currently kept in a secret. However it’s known that Jay Oliva will be the movie’s director. He already has some great experience in a screen adaptation of the comic books.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum game has got a lot of good references from all over the world and has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever. It’s the first part of the Batman: Arkham action-adventure series, which tells a story about the ongoing conflict between the Dark Knight and Joker. The Batman: Arkham Asylum game was released in August 2009 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
