According to Mashable interview, Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season Three will be released this year. Kevin Bruner, Telltale’s CEO, didn’t reveal many details on the third season, but he mentioned the second season’s endings and how Telltale will deal with them.

"The way that we're dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view," Bruner said.

Clementine’s story in the end of the Season 2 felt as the final one. However, we know that there are multiple variations of endings. And this makes the expectation even stronger, because we can’t imagine which story will be picked to continue and start Season 3. Telltale won’t rob those dozens of endings. As Bruner told, the Season 3 will take an unexpected approach, and that it won’t be as obvious as the only possible start of the story in third season.

"When we got to Season 2, we had a plan in the back of our minds of how we would make all these endings keep those threads going forward."

"From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before," he said.

The Walking Dead: Season Three isn’t the only Telltale’s game release in 2016. The developer's Batman series debuts this summer and lets you play as both the Caped Crusader and Bruce Wayne.
