According to the official information, Overkill’s The Walking Dead game will be based on the Starbreeze’s Diesel engine, which has been upgraded. Now, it meets the requirements of the next-gen consoles. Probably, such news can mean that the upcoming project will be launched on PS4 and Xbox One. Also, it’s quite possible that the PC owners will be lucky to try the new action-adventure. But for the current moment, these are only the guesses. The studio has promised to announce the platforms a little bit later.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead game is to be released only in 2016. The project will be continuously supported by some free and paid DLCs.

"The collaboration between Starbreeze Studios and our partner Skybound Interactive will deliver something uniquely exciting for our millions of fans. We're two independents joining forces to create the ultimate survival horror game. With Robert on the team, we will bring The Walking Dead into the world of first-person shooter co-op games. It will be gameplay focused, ferocious and bring chaos to the traditional industry model — from us developers straight to you. This time it's big — don't walk alone,” - Starbreeze’s CEO - Bo Andersson Klint - has stated.
