International Eurogamer Expo 2013, that was held last week in London, brought a lot of exciting news from the developers of video games, among which there is an interesting information about the upcoming Watch Dogs - an action-adventure from Ubisoft.
So, the game's creative director, Jonathan Morin, has told who Aiden Pierce is and what Watch Dogs map we’ll see in the game. According to Jonathan Morin, the Watch Dogs protagonist - Aiden Pierce - is a character who is between Batman superhero and a serial killer Dexter (known thanks to the American TV series "Dexter"). Although from time to time Aiden will do good things in the game, as it were wavering between good and evil inclination in himself, but he will remain an anti-hero. As the game's creative director says, you being Aiden Pierce will often encounter the ambiguous situations and you'll just have to choose how to act and react, how to perceive the world around you. The amount of your actions will determine how the residents of Chicago (including the police) will respond to you and whether they sympathize with you or not.
In addition, Jonathan Morin said that unlike most projects where the game’s locations are opened when the player have finished some missions, Watch Dogs map will be open from the start. You will not have to perform any task to go anywhere you want, it will be available from the first minutes of the game. You can move anywhere you want, but you will need to use all of Aiden’s hacking skills to expand his area of influence. In the end, you will have to get your own huge network that monitoring everything that happens in the city.
“That unlocks tons of different side activities and events that the system can detect so we can actually go and intervene into them."
According to the creative director of Watch Dogs, they (the developers) really wanted the player to create his own hacking system and try to control the whole city.
Whether they have succeed in it or not, we will be able to judge after the release of Watch Dogs, which is scheduled for the end of November this year.
