EA does not wish anymore to invest in social games. The publisher has confirmed to Eurogamer that he wanted to "opt out" of the market. And he wants to do it for a simple reason: the fall of the players’ number on Facebook.

"For the people who have seen other recent stops of social games, it is not surprising at all," said EA in a statement. The Sims Social, Pet Society and Social SimCity will therefore be removed from Facebook beginning the 14th of June.

So, The Sims Social will not even have time to blow its first candle, cause the game was launched only on the 25th of June 2012. The publisher, however, tempered by specifying that its popular games such as Bejeweled Blitz, Solitaire Blitz and Plants vs. Zombies Adventures will remain on Facebook. Therefore EA follows the same strategy as Namco Bandai who removed many titles from the social network last month.

Indeed, this sector shows its limitations, because the economic model does not allow making money on investment.
