A good news for those who liked the first part of Avatar film and who look forward to the sequel of this sci-fi masterwork. James Cameron, the director, the producer and the screenwriter of the first Avatar film, has announced that he is going to shoot as many as three parts of this anticipated movie series.
Besides this extremely joyful statement Cameron has said when Avatar 2, 3 and 4 movies will be released, and where the shooting of these films will take place. Thus, Avatar 2 movie will be launched in December 2016, Avatar 3 in December 2017, and the final part of the tetralogy will appear in the world cinema theatres another one year later. All three movies will be made in New Zealand. According to the agreement between Cameron, 20th Century Fox and the government of New Zealand, at least $421 million, which will be a kind of investment in the economy of the country, will be spent on the shooting of the movies. But at the same time the filmmaker (company) will receive an industry tax rebate of 25% (instead of 15%) for these blockbusters’ distribution.
It has also become known that the shooting of the films will begin in October 2014, and such screenwriters as Josh Friedman (he wrote the story of War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Shane Salerno, famous thanks to Savages and AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem, will be involved on screenplays for Avatar 2, Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 movies.
