Even while following the storyline in Metro: Last Light you will always have the choice and opportunity to diversify the most corridor levels. For example, in the railroad mission where we have to drive the "Regina" in order to move forward we will need to explore the surrounding area. And in the abandoned factory episode we can walk through unnoticed by killing enemies from the shadow, or just destroy everybody on our path.
