The new versions of the classic projects have already become the usual practice in the world of video games. And now, the legendary American developer - Atari company - has decided to keep pace with the others and has announced the Haunted House and Alone in the Dark reboots. Both horrors must be launched on PC this autumn.
According to the information from the official site, Alone in the Dark: Illumination game is being created by the little-known Pure studio. The original version of this project was released in 1992 and became some kind of an ancestor of the survival horror genre. For the current moment, Alone in the Dark: Illumination game has got only its logo. Any other details about it haven’t been revealed yet.
As for the second project in the list, the new version of Haunted House is being developed by the Italian studio - Dreampainters, - which is famous for its work on one more horror game titled Anna. This spring, the company’s founder - Alessandro Monopoli - told about the renewal of an old franchise, but without any further information. And now, it has become clear what exactly he meant.
The new version of Haunted House will become another part in the similarly named series, the first game of which was launched in 1982 on Atari 2600 console. About 30 years later, the developers released the original’s sequel on PC, Wii and Xbox 360.
The Haunted House and Alone in the Dark reboots will be one of the main topics during the Atari’s press conference at PAX Prime. The event will be held in Seattle from August 29th till September 1st. So, we hope that the company will share a lot of interesting details about the upcoming instalments.
