Excellent news for the fans of Sid Meier's Civilization strategy series. A couple of hours ago, the franchise’s publisher - 2K Games company - announced a new Civilization: Beyond Earth DLC titled Rising Tide.
According to the official information published on the series’ site, the upcoming Civilization: Beyond Earth DLC will be released on PC sometime this autumn. This add-on will expand the horizons for the colonization of a distant planet and provide the players with lots of possibilities to create a new future of humanity. Thus, as it is mentioned on the franchise’s site, the forthcoming Civilization: Beyond Earth DLC will let players colonize the Ocean, build the floating settlements, get lots of natural resources hidden beneath the seas, meet some new underwater creatures and even fight against them. Besides, the upcoming Civilization: Beyond Earth DLC will include new enhanced diplomatic options, 4 additional factions, some special hybrid Affinity units as well as two world types - one with lots of volcanos on it and the other, covered with icy oceans and frozen tundra.
Also, this Civilization: Beyond Earth DLC will bring to the game a new artifact system, which will allow players to collect and combine various relics in order to unlock the perks and unite different upgrades and buildings. And finally, the last thing, which will be added in the project by this Civilization: Beyond Earth expansion, is some new dynamic leader traits. They will be unlocked through gameplay and will activate various combinations to respond to the changing world.
As for the Rising Tide’s exact release date and its price, there is no official information so far.
