Beware! Internet fraudsters

Beware! Internet fraudsters by  5021 views
With the internet technologies’ development, the appearance of thieves, freaks and paparazzis (especially in the case of well-known people) in the Network become usual and cannot surprise anyone. The regular users of the network and even casual gamers more and more often become the hackers’ victims.

The hot news or free software/films/music download for the sake of access to which users have to enter some personal data (passwords to e-mail or Facebook/Twitter account and etc.) has become the most powerful hackers’ weapon.

A few days ago a major scandal erupted when the Xbox LIVE users began to complain that their e-mail had been heavily spammed. Herb Lawrence, the head of a Microsoft’s development department, said that a lot of new resources that promote pre-order and registration on the new Xbox 720 beta-testing appeared in the Network. He appealed to all to be careful, because the company doesn’t intend to carry out such events for ordinary users.

Another common type of fraud is the "Internet Slavery" in which an attacker gains access to the hard drive or full control to the victims’ PC.

One of the most common methods is the distribution of infected  game’s torrent images.

"I have a rather large collection of ladies, whose PC I hacked using Sims 3 images. Since this game is one of the most popular in the world, it is not difficult to find a non-protected system and get full access to it, "- said one of the hackers.

In addition to breaking the bank accounts or e-money accounts, hackers often check hard drives for private erotic pictures or video, and have fun following the "victims" with their own web camera.

We strongly encourage you to avoid suspicious sites and resources, carefully check the name of the site where you enter your information, and of course have an antivirus software installed.
